What about the ability of the vBackup application to select and mount a backed up virtual disk and show you the contents as well as restore the individual files in a seamless way.

At present you have to use the VMware Disk mount utility from the command lineto get the disk mounted and then manually copy the required files/folders for restore. It would be nice to do all of this from within the vBackup app.

Also it would be good to be able to restore the correct permissions to those files and folders.

Other than that this is a great product that is shaping up really well.

I agree with the previous post. I just ran some test backups and for one example I have a vmdk that is split into 42 pieces and adds up to 15GB. Many of these pieces are as small as 320KB. Having the vmdk broken up like this makes the "Mount Disks" function useless. When I try to mount any of these pieces I only have an empty drive. Even using vmware-vdiskmanager I can join the pieces back into one large vmdk file but the "Mount Disks" function still only gives me an empty drive. Using the third party tool OSFMount I can mount the vmdk file and retrieve individual files. I would say this program needs to keep the vmdk files in one piece. It also needs a working "Mount Disks" function or some other working method to retrieve individual folders and files. Also, there is what seems to be a bug where a newly completed backup will not show up in the list of backups in the "Backups" tab until the program is restarted.
