Hi,

I'm using thinware vBackup to backup a mailserver every Tuesday.
It makes a complete backup and deletes the old one.

Last Friday the server started giving problems.
I copied the backup folder (with vmdk and vmx files) to another location.
I exectured the Backup job on Friday, and restored it on another server to start troubleshooting.

But I couldn’t solve the issues. So now I have 2 duplicate VMs running with the same issues that I can’t solve.

So I’d like to restore the previous backup (From Tuesday) but it’s no longer available in the backup log.

Any ideas on how I can restore this VM using the files from Tuesday’s backup?

Thanks,

Erik

Accepted Answer

I was able to restore the backup:
- In the properties of the backup job I changed the file location to the location of the vmdk and vmx files.
- Then refreshed the backup log and it was there, ready to restore

Thanks thinware.
