Hi, how can I backup a powered-on Physical Machine, but exclude discs.

I want to backup one of our servers, but only its C: Drive. I have options to set the number of virtual CPU's and the amount of RAM, but no options to exclude any discs.

I am using Thinware vBackup 0.3.1.2638 , and ESXi 5.1 (free version). The VMware Virtual Disk Development Kit (5.1), and VMware vCenter Converter Standalone (5.1 build 1087880) are both installed on the same machine as the Thinware vBackup. The Thinware vBackup machine is running is a virtual machine.

Hoping someone can help, assuming this is even possible?

Kind Regards

Mike

Mike,

The current version of vBackup (0.3.1) does not support excluding disks for physical machines. We have plans to add this in a future version, but our primary focus is functionality around virtual machines at this time. Unfortunately, because of this there is currently no definitive date of release that we can go by.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Please let us know if you run into anything else.

Thank you,

vBackup Team
