Hello,

Currently trying out vBackup to see if it stands up to more advanced (and much more expensive) backup solutions. So far I really like the features and simplicity/robustness of it!
However, I receive the error below when I try to execute a job.
Have tried using Windows 7, Server 2003 and 2012 as host OS for vBackup. Have also tried backing up different virtual machines, but it keeps throwing the same error.

If i look at error.html in C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Virtual Disk Development Kit\doc\errors, "11 – VIX_E_FILE_READ_ONLY" is listed. Don't know if that is a correct interpretation of what is going on.

Happy to help.

There is a known bug in VMware Virtual Disk Development Kit (VDDK) build 1042608 (version 5.1.1) that causes the "Received signal 11" error. If you will download and install VDDK build 774844 (version 5.1.0) you should be good to go. Please uninstall the previous version of VDDK first. It looks like VMware recently pulled build 1042608 from their downloads page. Link to correct download follows. Please let us know if you run into anything else.

Seems to be working now! Thank you!
Will be trying it out for a few weeks and if everything works as expected, we'll be ordering a Professional license :)
