Correction, I moved from Windows 2008 Standard 32Bit to Windows 2008 R2 Standard 64bit. What I did noticed was that when i backup just the disk 1, the backup was fine, if I included then 2nd disk, the backup copying failed before it reaches 50%. Perhaps you could try it out.
