Hi,

I have the Problem that I can not Backup my VM Machines. I always get the Error Message "Unable to complete backup. Unable to retrieve virtual machine ID. Error while creating 'virtualmachine' file. Access denied."
Tried already with root Access rights, but I'll get the same Error. The Backup User I created on the ESXi has all rights. Also I did not use any special Characters at the Password. SSH is activated. The configuration of vBackup was running correctly with the User. Hope someone can help me with this.

vBackup Verion: Standard 4.0.2.2754
vSphere 6 Hypervisor: VMware ESXi 6.0.0 3029758
VMware VDDK: 5.1.0.774844

This error should not trigger unless there are special characters in the host server user's password.

Please make sure you are not using any of the following characters in your password:

/ \ ^ & | " < > SPACE

Also, please feel free to engage our support team via e-mail (support [at] thinware [dot] net). Once resolved we can post the resolution back to this forum thread.
