Howdy all, I'm having trouble with vBackup 4.0.2.2754 (Version 4.0, Update 2) backing up a free VMware ESXi 6.0.0 3620759 server. I see from Google, that there were some issues similar to this in 2013, and I've tried a number of the suggested fixes from that time, but haven't been successful. Below is a log file, any help would be most appreciated.

The error you are getting is:

E Unable to complete backup. Unable to retrieve virtual machine ID. Error while creating 'virtualmachine' file. WARNING - POTENTIAL SECURITY BREACH!.

Upon fist connection to a remote server using a PuTTY utility a security key is cached in the system registry. This is done so that you are not prompted to approve communicating with the remote server each time. If you have recently rebuilt your host server and reused the IP address/host name this is most likely the issue.

To resolve this issue you simply need to clear the security keys stored by PuTTY in the system registry or by running the following command at a Windows command prompt (on your vBackup server).

putty.exe -cleanup

If you do not have PuTTY installed on your vBackup server, you can download it via the following link:

Hope this helps!
