I have a VM that creates hundreds of VMDKs when backed up. One is named servername.domain.vmdk . The others are servername.domain-s001.vmdk through servername.domain-s307.vmdk.

The VMware OVF Tool fails to convert it to an OVF. It gives the error, "Failed to open disk: servername-000001.vmdk".

The VMware vCenter Converter Standalone cannot use it as a source . It gives the error, "Unable to obtain hardware information for the selected machine."

Any idea what may be going on here?
