Hello,

I have a trial version of vBackup from you + I have ESXI - 6.7.0 on the server for FREE Updat 3 (BUILD 14320388) - SSH and SHELL enabled.

Why can't I save to a local drive or NAS?

Thank you.

Hi Ben

You can save to a NAS, but only if it has a NFS share and has been added to ESXi 6.7 as a datastore. You can add it to all your ESXi hosts and works a treat.

1) Add a share on your NAS and enable NFS

2) Set permissions on the share to allow read and write access for your ESXi hosts

3) Add the NFS share as a datastore on your ESXi hosts (vSphere Client > Storage > Add Datastore > NFS Datastore

4) Set the backup job in vBackup to use a Host Server Accessible backup repository and set the backup repository path to the datastore created in step 3 (be sure to enter the path in the correct format and use the datastore name not the UUID)

Regards

Keith
